Logan “The Great One” Stanley

When People discuss the great players of today it disheartens me to see that they never include The man, the myth, Logan Stanley. Logan Stanleys speed, acceleration, edgework, handles, mixed with his insane hockey IQ makes for the ideal player. It baffles me that someone could call Wayne Gretzky “the great one” with a straight face when Logan Stanley exists. If the NHL could construct a player in a lab They would create Logan Stanley.

Logan grew up in Kitchener, Ontario and as soon as he stepped on the ice everyone knew that he would be “The Great One.” The stats speak for them selves. Take his first year in the OHL for example. He played for the Windsor Spitfires and dominated opponents. In his 59 games played he got no goals and 4 assists, thus asserting his dominance over the hockey world.

Fast-forwarding to his heavily anticipated draft year 2016 it was no shocker when he went in the first round. There was one shocker about this though, he was picked 18 overall, way lower than the estimated first overall he much deserved. This shocked the hockey world deep down to there core and the leaf’s regret this decision every day. As they took the far less skilled Auston Mathews who really hasn’t done anything since his draft. But it is great for the Winnipeg Jets as they have a future hall of famer and generational talent who has done nothing but excelled with the Jets. He has played 181 games to date and has an impressive 5 goals and 26 assists for a whopping 31 career points. To all the kids in hockey out there i would recommend changing you’re number. Because soon 64 will be retired.

Dustin Byfuglien Is Better Than Wayne Gretzky

When people ponder over who is the best NHL player of all time there minds often go to the all time points and goals leader, Wayne Gretzky. Some could even argue someone like conner McDavid, Crosby, or possibly Ovechkin, who is nearing the goal record. But the player they never mention is the best enforcer of all time, Dustin Byfuglien.

Dustin Byfuglien was an absolute menace in every aspect of the game. He could do it all. From Scoring, to passing, to absolutely trucking players. This behemoth standing at six foot five and weighing in at over 260 pounds started his career on the Chicago Blackhawks where he played both forward and defense. helping them to win a cup in 2009-2010 season. Even becoming the first black American born player to win the cup.

when thinking of enforcers in the NHL you don’t ever think of them producing more then a couple big hits and a fight. but Byfuglien could do it all. at the peak of his career he scored 20 goals and had 36 assists. You see in the age of Gretzky you couldn’t hit him without getting a bounty on your back. But with Byfuglien he could hit, shoot, pass, as well as being exceptionally quick and agile for his size. although he did not usually fight, sticking to hitting, no one could beat him. one time he grabbed to full grown adult men out of a scrum and held them back like they were kids.

I honestly believe in my heart that if you were to put Wayne Gretzky and Dustin Byfuglien on the ice together. make them have a 1v1 to ten. Byfuglien would absolutely destroy him. Dustin Byfuglien is the greatest player of all time .

The Winnipeg Jets Are The Best Team In The NHL

If you have been following the NHL this year then you would know that the jets are off to a great start. In fact following their 3-2 victory over the S.T. louis blues on Tuesday earned them the title of the only undefeated team remaining.

the 2024-2025 Winnipeg Jets are a very deep-rooted team. they can trust their third and fourth lines just as much as their first and second. The jets have now one six straight games in a row with zero losses. One of which was played with their backup goalie Eric Comrie. As well as having a new coach that used to play for the jets in the 80s. The Jets this year are looking like a dangerous competitor.

In past years i have been very let down by the Jets, such as last year when they lost in the first round of the playoffs in five games to the Colorado Avalanche. Then also almost the entirety of the 2010s the Jets were awful. The only exception being that time they made the time they lost in the conference finals to the Vegas golden nights. But they have never in my lifetime started a season off this hot. They beat the franchise record games undefeated after their fifth game won. Now they have won their sixth.

There has never been a time in my life where the jets start off as the longest surviving team in the NHL. That why I believe strongly that currently the Jets are the best team in the NHL, and a serious cup contender. The most cup contending they’ve ever been. But it is still very early in the season. So i guess we’ll just wait and see how it goes. But i think its going quite well.

New Country music is bad

When turning on the top “country” music stations of this day and age you will be unpleasantly horrified with the ear bleeding garbage of today’s songs. I am not joking one bit when i state this. If I am to be listening to country it is almost never going to be the newer stuff. I am truly saddened by the downfall of country music. It used to be popular and sound like perfection but nowadays it is just a bunch of fake synthized garbage.

To understand how it got bad today we must first closely examine the times where it was great. Country was very great in the 70s, 80s, 90, and the early 2000s. in these years there are country legends like Johnny cash, Willie nelson, George strait, Alan Jackson, Brooks and Dunn, Toby Keith, And so many more timeless classic i don’t have the time to name. The seventies have songs like coal miners daughter and Jolene. The 80s have bops like ambirillo by morning, he stopped loving her today, and even on the road again. Which is arguably the most iconic song of all time. Most people would say the 90s were country’s prime with fantastic tunes like boot scootin’boogie, carrying your love with me, should’ve been a cowboy. It is insane how many more there are I don’t have enough space to put down. The early 2000s also have great songs but fall short of the 80s and 90s prime country, with songs like what was I thinking, and its five o’clock somewhere. It is hard to exactly pinpoint where the downfall began but i believe it was somewhere in the late 2000s, early 2010s, and from then on it has been fake country garbage sounding “music.”

Though there are exceptions to my statement there are few. It just lost all of its soul. The old country songs sound real, whilst these new songs are the polar opposite. Filled with auto tune and pop sounding rhythms. It hasn’t really been good since years before I was born. I am sad I never got to experience good country music new.
